Transportation (Bangkok – Ayutthaya)
If you wish to travel like a local, I would recommend you to travel by trains. The express train costs only 40p for a 3rd class carriage seat. Trains to Ayutthaya generally depart from Hua Lum Pong station (Bangkok main station) and take around one hour and a half to arrive in Ayutthaya. This is a cheap way to get to this city and enables you to enjoy the view. One downside of travelling by trains is that they hardly show up on time. Expect the delay!
Getting Around the City
You can either rent a bicycle or a motorcycle to go around the city. While renting a bicycle only costs around £1 for whole day, a motorcycle costs around £4. Use your ID as a deposit. Rental services are literally right outside the train station.
